Roundys Supermarkets, Inc., one of the nation's premier food retail companies, is looking for an Assistant Managers to be located at our retail supermarkets in the Wausau and Stevens Point, WI areas. Roundys today is a company of 17,000 employees, approaching $4 billion in annual sales, and undergoing tremendous growth. Company-owned and operated supermarkets include Pick N Save stores and Copps Food Centers in Wisconsin and Rainbow Foods in Minnesota. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Manages store operations to achieve projected store sales and profit objectives on the off shift of the Store Director. Directs and coordinates activities necessary to assure proper implementation of established sales and merchandising programs. Ensure store conditions are maintained and oversee the store preparation for the evening close and the next day operation. Oversee the night manager and night crew. This is primarily a 2nd shift position
COMPANY WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Contributes toward ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers and a positive working environment for employees. 2.Ensures proper product handling to control shrinkage and waste. 3.Follows all company, store, and department policies and procedures. 4. Complies with federal and state regulations.5.Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Manager on duty.Walks through store to monitor and coach employees to ensure follow through with work direction and are engaged.Responds to customer inquiries and complaints in a positive resolution-oriented manner Ensures that store products and displays are of proper quality and are properly stocked and merchandised to plan.Manage store preparation for next day operation closing through opening following morning.Review total store inside and outside (lobby and parking lot) for optimal overall conditions.
2. Perform all duties of the Store Director in his/her absence.
3. Customer Service Establishes and maintains a customer-oriented culture and delivers a high level of customer service.
4. People and Staffing Ensure proper staffing to address service levels and efficient utilization of labor. Assists with hiring and on boarding new employees to their job responsibilities. Ensure employees receive feedback through effective performance management and talent is identified and developed. Ensure employees adhere to company policies and procedures as well as local; state and federal laws and regulations.
5. Safety and Sanitation -Actively identifies and supports store safety and sanitation programs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school education and five plus years supervisory experience in a retail store environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.For over 138 years Roundys has demonstrated its concern for customers, pride in its products, and care for its associates and commitment to the community.
