Roundy's Opens New Rainbow Foods in Brooklyn Park
Family and Children's Service Receives $2,500 at Grand Opening

Brooklyn Park, MN, April 3, 2006 - Today Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. (parent company of Rainbow Foods) hosted a grand opening party and ribbon cutting ceremony for the company's newest and most complete supermarket in the Twin Cities. The 57,000-plus square foot Rainbow Foods store, located at 8020 Brooklyn Boulevard in Brooklyn Park, is the 34th Rainbow Foods in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The new store has created roughly 150 new jobs for the area and is providing a densely populated community with yet another choice for its grocery shopping.

Robert Mariano, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Roundy's, along with store and local officials, cut the ribbon for the new store at 6 p.m. Mark Beaty, Vice President and General Manager of Rainbow Foods, presented a $2,500 check to Family and Children's Service, an organization that provides tutoring and mentoring to children. "Not only is it important for Roundy's to provide our customers with a new store that gives them an unprecendented shopping experience, but it is important for us to give back to the communities we serve," said Beaty. "One of the causes Roundy's feels strongly about is the advancement of literacy. The mentoring and tutoring program at Family and Children's Service ensures children throughout the Twin Cities have the reading foundation they need."

The grand opening at the new Brooklyn Park store had a spring theme, symbolizing a time of growth and renewal. It included performances by the Champlin Park Jazz Band and appearances by the Trix Rabbit, Lucky the Leprechaun, the Pillsbury Doughboy, the Kemp's Cow, the Roundy's "Bag of Dreams" and the Easter Bunny.
